What happens during the shoot?

We’ll start with a chat about what you’ve brought, the lighting you’ve chosen and any moves or ideas you want to capture. Then we get shooting.You’re not left to figure it out on your own. I’ll guide you through poses, angles and all the little details, where to look, what to do with your hands, when to point your toes, and help adapt moves to make them work for the camera.Once we’re finished shooting, we’ll sit down and look through the images so you can choose your favourites for editing.

I’ve never done a photoshoot before. Is that okay?

Absolutely. Lots of people come to PoleOclock having never done a professional photoshoot before.You don’t need to know how to pose, where to look or what to do with your hands. I’ll guide you through it all and help you settle in as we go. You’re not expected to turn up knowing what you’re doing, that’s my job.

How long will it take to get my images?

Accepted Answer

Please allow 6–8 weeks after your shoot for your finished images to arrive.At particularly busy times it may take the full turnaround, so hang tight, good things are happening behind the scenes.If you haven’t received anything after eight weeks, check your junk/spam folder first and then give me a shout.

There are many local bus stops and Bridgeton is the closest train station only 5min walk.
You can find trains to Bridgeton from Glasgow City Centre at Central Train station or Argyle St station which is near the old studio location.
 
There is free on site private parking.
 
If you are parking then you must IMMEDIATELY text 07731799990 the following on arrival: "Your Name" "Suite 202" "Car Registration" "Arrival Time" "Leaving Time"
(for leaving time, enter a time that gives you plenty of time to leave).
If you don't do this everytime you arrive, you may get a £100 parking fine because it is private parking.

What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

Wear whatever makes you feel good. And as much or as little as you feel comfortable in.Polewear, bodysuits, lingerie, bikinis, oversized shirts, something sparkly, something ridiculous, something that makes you feel incredible. It's your shoot.
Some PoleOclock clients also choose topless or nude images. There’s no expectation either way. The important bit is that you feel comfortable and like yourself.Your outfit can also affect how the lighting works, so have a look through the Style Guide before you decide.

How will I receive my images?

Accepted Answer

Your finished images will be delivered digitally by email, ready for you to download, keep, print and share.Make sure the email address you give me is one you actually check and have a quick look in your junk/spam folder if your images seem to have taken an unexpected detour.

Is the shoot just for people who have pole experience?

Accepted Answer

No, the PoleOclock shoots are for anyone. 
Even people who have never touched a pole.
You will be guided into the best poses/moves to suit your style and skill level.

How many outfits should I bring?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the shoot you’ve booked, but as a general rule, one outfit per lighting style works really well. It means we’re not wasting precious camera time on endless outfit changes.Bring options if you’re undecided, we can have a look together and work out what will photograph best with your chosen lighting. And have a peek at the Lighting + Style Guide beforehand if you need a bit of inspiration.

Do I need pole experience?

Not at all. PoleOclock shoots are for everyone, from complete beginners to instructors and performers, including people who have never touched a pole. We’ll work with what feels comfortable for you and choose poses and shapes that suit your ability. You definitely don’t need a catalogue of advanced tricks to create brilliant photos.

What pole will I be using?

Accepted Answer

For Glasgow shoots, you’ll be shooting on a 45mm stainless-steel X-Pole. We usually shoot on static because it works best for photography, but spin can be used where needed.
If you use a particular grip, bring it with you. We’ll get you set up and comfortable before we start shooting.For UK Studio Tours, the pole setup will depend on the host studio, so check with them beforehand if you have any specific requirements.

Do I need to wear heels?

No, heels, trainers or bare feet.
You can make the shoot as Sexy or as contempory as you like.

How are my images edited?

Accepted Answer

Every image you select is professionally edited by me before it lands in your inbox.My approach is to make the image look its best without changing what makes you look like you. I’ll work on things like lighting, colour, background and overall finish, with natural skin retouching where needed.If there’s something you specifically would, or wouldn’t, like retouched, just tell me. I’d much rather know than make assumptions about what you want changed.

Do I need to wear heels?

Only if you want to. Heels can look incredible, but they are absolutely not compulsory. Heels, trainers, bare feet, whatever suits you and the images you want to create. Your shoot can be sexy, contemporary, strong, soft, dramatic or a bit of everything. There are no compulsory eight-inch platforms here.Wear what works for your movement and makes you feel most like you.

What if I'm nervous?

Then you're normal. Congratulations.
Seriously, nerves are probably one of the most common things people mention before a shoot.You don't need to arrive feeling wildly confident and camera-ready. You don't need to know your angles. And you don't need to pretend you're having a great time if you're internally screaming.
We'll take our time, have a chat and ease into it. I'll guide you throughout the shoot, so you’re never left standing there wondering what on earth you're supposed to do next.By the end, you'll hopefully be wondering what you were worried about.

Can I bring someone with me? TBC

If you confirm this is ok then copy can be:
Yes. If having someone there will help you relax, you’re welcome to bring a friend or pole pal along for moral support and appropriate levels of hype.Just remember that studio space can be limited, so one person is plenty rather than arriving with your entire entourage.

Can I edit my PoleOclock images myself?

Please don’t add filters, presets or make further edits to your finished PoleOclock images.A lot of work goes into the lighting, colour and final edit to create the finished PoleOclock look, so I ask that images are shared as supplied.If there’s something you’d like changed, come back to me instead, I’m always happy to have a look.

Do I need to know how to pose?

Nope. I'll help with posing, angles, hands, feet, where to look and all those tiny details you suddenly forget the second a camera appears.
Bring ideas if you have them. If you don’t, that’s fine too.

Do I get to see my photos before I leave?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once we’ve finished shooting, we’ll sit down together and go through your images.You’ll choose your favourites for editing there and then, and I can help if you’re stuck between two almost-identical photos wondering why choosing is suddenly the hardest decision you’ve ever made.

What should I wear?

You can wear as much or little as you like.
 
Some people like to wear some of the following:
Pole wear, bikinis, leotard and lingerie.
Some even bare all and go topless or nude, this is totally up to you.
 
We want you to be as confident and as comfortable as possible but if there is a few mishaps there's always Photoshop ;)

How many moves should I prepare?

Accepted Answer

You don’t need a massive list. A handful of moves or shapes you feel comfortable with is plenty.Think about variety rather than difficulty, something up the pole, something lower down, a floor pose, a favourite shape or something you’ve recently nailed.Screenshots are always helpful, so save anything you like on your phone and we can work through your ideas together.And don't worry if you forget everything the minute you walk through the door. I know the feeling.

Can I print my images?

Absolutely. Your finished high-resolution images are yours to print for personal use.Print them big, frame them, put one somewhere you can admire yourself every time you walk past . They don’t have to live forever on your phone.

Can I have props in my photoshoot?

Accepted Answer

Yes, bring whatever and who ever you like.
So far we have had balloons, flags, hats, and playing cards to name a few!
Please feel free to get as creative with your shoot as you like.

Can I bring props?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Get creative.PoleOclock has seen balloons, flags, hats,  and plenty more over the years. If something helps make the shoot feel more you, bring it along.If it's particularly large, messy, alive or likely to cause chaos, maybe check with me first.

About the pole!

Accepted Answer

The PoleOclock Images studio has a stainless steel 45mm Xpert X-Pole.
 
Yes, you can use any grip you like! There's even some complementary grips available. 
 
Most poses and moves are taken with the pole on static however can be changed to spin if needed.

How long will it take till I have my images?

Accepted Answer

The max turn around time is 6-8weeks, however usually we operate around 4-6weeks. You will be told at the end of your shoot the estimated time for your images to arrive.

How do I receive my images?

Accepted Answer

You will receive your images digitally in an email. 
They will come in two folders, make sure to download both. One folder the images are perfect for printing for your own personal use. The other folder are your online images, these are slightly smaller files and have the PoleOclock logo so perfect for posting online, don't forget to tag @poleoclockimages

Do I get to pick how they are edited?

The editing is done to the highest of standards and is mostly focused on the background of the images with a light skin touch up. We remove any bruises automatically, if you would like any additional editing you can ask for this.

Can I choose any lighting style?

Yes! Things are sometime a little bit different depending on space provided and surrounding light at the studio hosting but yes you can pick two of the lighting styles for your shoot!

You can book back to back with your friend and that way you can support each other during your shoot.

How many shoots can you do in one day?

We recommend a maximum of 18 shoots per day, if your studio will be looking for over this number we would shoot over two days.

Is there parking at the studio?

Yes, there is free private parking available at Templeton on the Green.

Can I get there by public transport?

Yes. Bridgeton train station is around a five-minute walk from the studio, making it really easy to reach from Glasgow Central and Argyle Street Station and beyond. There are local bus stops you can also use so check your timetables.

Can I change my outfit?

Accepted Answer

Yes, however during our tour date shoots you typically only have 30mins so changing outfit can eat into that time so we would only recommend two outfits and for you to change at the same time as the lighting style being adjusted.

What time should I arrive?

Aim to arrive 10–15 minutes before your booked shoot time. That gives you time to get changed, warm up and settle in without eating into your actual camera time.There’s no need to arrive ridiculously early, just give yourself enough breathing room so you’re not bursting through the door at the exact second your shoot is meant to start.
